Alex here! The Raytones are having three - count'em! THREE - shows at the magnificent Children's Discovery Museum in beautiful San Jose California on February 14, 2009! Valentine's Day! Admission to the shows are FREE with paid admission to the museum.

Yep! Bring your sweetie, mom, dad, close friend, pet dinosaur or whomever! Invite the whole neighborhood! You'll have three chances to see us! We'll debut some brand new songs that will be on our next CD!

We had the privilege of winning Honorable Mention in a really cool songwriting contest! It was sponsored by the San Francisco Department of Public Health Healthy Habits "Infect Me Not" Campaign. Our BRAND NEW song, "The Sleeve Sneeze and the Cough Cut-Off", is all about what the Infect Me Not campaign is about; sneezing and coughing into your sleeve, or a tissue. It helps to prevent germs - that can make people sick - from spreading!

We'll be performing "The Sleeve Sneeze and the Cough Cut-Off" on the steps of San Francisco City Hall on Wednesday, October 8 at 10:00 AM. If you're in the area, come on by and say hello!

Hello all you BLUEPEES!

And a great day to you! What a wonderful and fun show The Baby Blue Blues Band had at Gilroy Gardens this last Saturday, 9/20! And all thanks to YOU!

Yep! Ray the Rhino says thanks to all you BLUEPEES! Well, Ray nods his thanks! :o) If you haven't noticed, he doesn't talk too much. But he sure likes to dance, do cartwheels, slide down hand rails, jump on trampolines, bop beach balls, sign autographs, give big hugs and high fives, pose for pictures and look REALLY cool!

Isn't Gilroy Gardens the best too! With all that great food and fun rides! The Baby Blue Blues Band shouts out a big thanks to the super folks at Gilroy Gardens, especially Noelia, Jonathan and Russ!

Libraries RULE, baby!

Hello all you BLUEPEES!

That's right! I LOVE libraries. Besides the fact that you can get all kinds of great stuff there, like books, CD's, magazines and DVD's, the coolest and nicest people work and GO to libraries!

The Baby Blue Blues Band had a concert today at the wonderful, and brand, squeaky-clean, new, San Jose Public Library Pearl Ave. Branch. The audience was FANTASTIC. You all were up and dancing right at the first song, all the way through to the end! Just the way Ray the Rhino likes it! You did some great beach-ball bopping, trampoline jumping and you even helped me, Alex Baby Blue, play my guitar!

So you heard it here folks. If you're in the San Jose area, treat yourself to a stupendous library.

A special thanks goes out to Donna and Jane of the library and to YOU! Our faithful BLUEPEES! If you were at the show, and took some pictures, please feel free to email them to me and I'll post them (and mention that YOU took the picture!). alex@babybluebluesband.com

Hello all you BLUEPEES!

WOW! What a great weekend! We just wrapped up four hot shows (and by hot I mean HOT! It was 100 degrees out there!) at The Kidsfaire in Pleasanton! Ray the Rhino had to glop on about 5 gallons of sunscreen! (Now don't tell anybody, but, like all rhinos, he prefers mud!) Yesiree! Thanks so much to all you kids, moms, dads, aunts, uncles, grandmas, grandpas and all around cool people for coming to the shows! And thanks for braving that HEAT!

One very cool thing about the show is that we got to share the stage with a band that is one of our heroes! The Hipwaders! Tito and the gang are the coolest - or should I say HIPPEST - bunch of cats around! It was an honor!

In fact, Tito was so cool, he took pictures, of US! Check'em out right here!

We also had the privilege to hang out with Abby & The Pipsqueaks! HIGHLY recommended show! You actually get to see a Theramin in action!

Wow! What a fun show we had this last Tuesday the 26th at The Children's Discovery Museum of San Jose! It was a great way to start the new school year out!

A gigantic thanks and Ray the Rhino high-five and hug to all you cool kids, moms and dads that showed up and grooved until the grooving was done! Ray LOVED making that big old choo-choo train with you; choo-chooing up and down the rows of the fabulous Cadence Amphitheatre! And thanks also for buying so many CD's! I like reading! I like music! I like comic book superheros! How about you?

Well it just so happens that there are two REALLY COOL books I'd love to recommend. The first is Jessie's Mountain, by Kerry Madden

It's a beautiful and touching story about Livy, a girl determined to become a famous singer, and about her family and the bonds that keep that family together. She learns a lot by reading her beloved mother's diary.

The other book is Superpowers: A Novel, by David J. Schwartz

What if someone you know - maybe even YOU - woke up one day with superpowers!? Would it be cool? Would it be scary? Read about how these five friends wake up one day to find that they have superpowers! How cool is that!?

Hello all you BLUEPEES!

"Bluepees" is kind of like "groupees" but just for us! Thanks to super hip mom Sally for coming up with that cool name!

Long time no blog! August is gearing up to be a Baby Blues-a-licious month for concerts! Check the Calendar of Cool to see all of our dates. There will be lots of shows, so you'll have plenty of opportunities to come by to dance, sing and act goofy with Ray!

And, on September 6 and 7, we're playing the incredible, colossal, huge and all around really big and cool Kidsfaire in Pleasanton. Talk about a fun time!

Don't forget October! That's right! On October 25 we're playing a gig at MAGNIFICENT Bay Area Discovery Museum in Sausality, CA! You know, that is pretty close to Halloween, and I don't think anyone would mind if you all came in your costumes!

So now to the storyland video! This is the first Baby Blue Blues Band story. Check out what happens when Alex, Ritchie, Jeff, Nicki and Ray meet glowing gumdrop aliens! How will it end!!?? Click the video to find out!

We had another great set of shows at The Children's Discovery Museum in San Jose this past Saturday April 5th. A great big groovy THANKS to all of you that made it! This was a special set of shows because it was Nathan birthday. We played a special rendition of Happy Birthday just for him. It was such fun! Happy Birthday Nathan!
